Digitalisation in the BMUV

In the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection (BMUV), across all directorates-general experts are tackling the phenomena of digitalisation early on, testing out new technologies and assessing their impacts. Together, we are working to build and expand our own digitalisation competences and implement a BMUV modernisation agenda.

At the ministry we are striving for a digitalisation strategy in which the new forms of work and collaboration are reflected in our organisational culture. For us, virtual spaces for teamwork, video conferences and mobile communication are as much a matter of course as modern collaborative project work in agile formats like the Design Thinking approach.

In addition, the BMUV is actively working on the strategic management of information technology, the digitalisation of administration and consolidation of the German government IT infrastructure.
