Nanotechnology is a cross-cutting technology which continually launches new products for virtually all areas of daily life. To ensure the safety and sustainability of nanotechnology, a succession of projects investigating the impacts of nanomaterials on humans and the environment are being implemented. In this context, the accompanying research into the safety and risks of nanomaterials and the development of standards for effective regulation are key.
As part of its ministry-funded research, the BMUB makes a contribution with projects on environmental research and regulation. Product safety is the responsibility of the company launching a new product. Click on the links below for further information on relevant research projects.
