Online-Workshop "Setting the scene"

The German Environment Ministry (BMU) and the German Agency for Nature Conservation (BfN) are hosting a series of three online workshops on the sustainable use of sharks and rays in fisheries and trade. The workshops will lay the groundwork for a high-level international conference in 2022.

The first workshop "Setting the scene" will take place in November 2021. The workshop will be offered on two dates in identical format to allow participants from different time zones to attend:

  • 8 November at 12:00 UTC - for participants in Africa, Europe, Latin America (Atlantic coast), the Caribbean and North America (Atlantic coast)
  • 11 November at 06:00 UTC - for participants in Asia and the Pacific region

The workshops will be held in English. A translation of the written materials will be available and interpreters will be on hand to translate the group discussions into Spanish and French.

Additional information and technical specifications for participation in the first workshop will be sent to all registered participants. The number of participants is limited for technical and organisational reasons.
