The German-Belgian Nuclear Commission continued its exchange about relevant nuclear installations on both sides of the border and discussed, among other topics, various aspects of nuclear waste management.

The German-Belgian Nuclear Commission, established under the Bilateral Nuclear Agreement of 2016, held its third meeting at the German Environment Ministry in Bonn on 5 June 2019. Representatives of Belgium’s nuclear regulator FANC (Federal Agency for Nuclear Control) and, as part of the German delegation, representatives of the Federal Environment Ministry, German TSO GRS and the adjacent Länder of North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate attended the productive meeting. In addition to discussions about relevant nuclear installations on both sides of the border, the meeting covered, among other topics, various aspects of nuclear waste management.
