We are all dependent on a functioning transport of goods and shipments. The same applies to smooth disposal. Urban logistics is therefore existential. But we all experience every day that the traffic associated with it is increasing rapidly - especially delivery traffic. One reason for this is that online trading is becoming increasingly popular.
What are convenient services for us as customers also has its downsides: more traffic jams, more noise, more pollutants and more impact on the climate. We want to reduce these negative effects of traffic. And not through restrictions, but through new ideas, new technologies and new business models.
With the projects for sustainable urban logistics, we also want to improve the quality of life in our cities. This is why we have launched this national competition as part of the Action Programme Climate Protection 2020 and with the support of the German Environment Agency. The focus is on sustainability.
