Developments and facts about the International Climate Initiative 2020
The International Climate Initiative (IKI) is one of the most important instruments of the Federal Environment Ministry for the international financing of climate protection and biodiversity. It finances climate protection and biodiversity conservation in developing and emerging countries as well as in transition countries. So far, the IKI has committed over 750 climate and biodiversity projects in more than 60 countries with a total funding volume of 4.5 billion euros (2008-2020).
With “Active for international climate protection – IKI Annual Report 2020”, the IKI gives an insight into its successful work in the challenging Corona year – and that in a new design. The IKI was able to put coping with the pandemic at the service of more ambitious climate and biodiversity protection. In addition to the most important facts and figures from 2020, this report also presents an excerpt with six examples from the project work, which link to six associated web stories on the website.
