Since 2005 the conference has included the Meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol (MOP) and in 2016 was expanded to include the Meeting of the Parties to the Paris Agreement (CMA).
The annual COP is the supreme decision making body of the UNFCCC. In this international convention, all developed countries have committed themselves to reducing their greenhouse gas emissions.
At COP21 in Paris, the first Climate Agreement was adopted, which lays down obligations for all 195 parties to the UNFCCC.
