Please note, this event is in the past.
Since 2010, the Petersberg Climate Dialogue (PCD) has been providing ministers and senior government officials with a meeting platform for an open and constructive exchange of information and ideas on international climate action issues. The conference has always been organised in cooperation with the presidency of the next climate conference. This year's PCD will therefore be co-hosted by the United Kingdom as the designated president of the next Climate Change Conference (COP26).
The PCD’s high-level ministerial segment will take place on 6 and 7 May 2021. It will focus on preparing COP26 to be held in Glasgow (UK) in November 2021. The meeting will start on 6 May 2021 at 2.00 pm with addresses by UN Secretary-General António Guterres, the British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Federal Chancellor Dr Angela Merkel of Germany. Their speeches will be publicly broadcast online.
This year's PCD will also include a series of additional virtual public satellite events on various climate policy issues. The satellite events will take place from 3 to 6 May 2021.
