On the occasion of ITB 2018, the international tourism trade show, the BMUB is presenting 15 sustainable travel destinations. These destinations include the Peene region in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, the partner region of this year’s ITB. The region has won the special award for biodiversity and nature experiences in the National Competition for Sustainable Tourism Destinations organised by the German Tourism Association (DTV) and the Federal Environment Ministry (BMUB). The latest sustainability report includes the Peene region together with 14 other nominees, finalists and winners of the competition.
