In order to limit global warming to a maximum of two degrees centigrade, industrial countries must reduce their greenhouse gas emissions by 80 to 95 percent in 2050 as compared to 1990. Aiming to reach this target, the German Federal Government will adopt a national Climate Action Plan 2050 in 2016.
