Response to Fukushima

On 11 March 2011 Japan was struck by a severe earthquake. The impact of the earthquake and the tsunami it triggered was also felt at nuclear power plant sites - specifically Fukushima I (Daiichi), Fukushima II (Daini), Onagawa and Tokai. At Japan's Fukushima I (Daiichi) nuclear power plant, it was the tsunami in particular that caused the worst nuclear disaster since Chernobyl.
