Preliminary wording proposals of the Federal Government of Germany for the Commission proposal for a Directive of the Council and the European Parliament on waste
At the end of August 2006 the Federal Ministry for the Environment sent its proposals on the amendment of the Council Directive on Waste (Waste Framework Directive) agreed and harmonised between the responsible ministries to the other Member States. So far Germany is the only Member State to have introduced a consistent amendment package to the discussions presently held in the Environmental Council and the European Parliament.
Against the background of present deliberations in the Council Working Group on Environment, the Commission proposal of 21 December 2005 and the proposal tabled by the Presidency on 19 July 2006 the Federal Government would like to propose the following amendments.
