Addresses of the Ministry's Berlin and Bonn offices

On 6 June 1986 the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety was established. The Ministry, which under a resolution of the German Bundestag has its principal office in Bonn, has some 830 employees in six departments there and at its second office in Berlin.

Gender Mainstreaming

The Federal Government, by means of a decision taken by the Cabinet on 23 June 1999, recognised gender equality of men and women to be the universal guiding principle for all its actions and decided to fulfil this task by carrying out the gender mainstreaming strategy.
