Energy-Efficient Data Centres
With the increasing use of the internet, telecom-munications services, and it networks internal to organisations, the numbers of servers and their power consumption has risen rapidly over the past ten years. Assuming that the best energy efficiency technologies and solutions available today were to be broadly implemented through massive efforts, i.e. at approx. 90% of all data centres, electric pow-er consumption by servers and the data centre in-frastructure would drop to 6.65 tWh by 2013. Report on the State of nature by the German federal Government for the 16th electoral term
In May 2005 the German federal government first published a report on the state of nature. The cur-rent report, covering the 16th electoral term, follows on from the earlier reports. The current report on the state of nature contains an inventory and analysis of the threats to biodiversity, the federal government’s priorities for nature conservation, and prospects for the future conserva-tion and sustainable use of biodiversity.
