IFEU study: Electric mobility - efficiency for the future
A new study carried out by the IFEU Institute, commissioned by the Federal Environment Ministry revealed that electric mobility has great advantages over vehicles using hydrogen and fuel cells. In the transport sector, electric vehicles have an overall efficiency of 65.5%, compared to only 17.9% for hydrogen/fuel cell powered vehicles. In times of low grid loads, electricity from renewable sources can therefore be used efficiently to charge batteries.
