GreenTech made in Germany 2.0
Environmental Technology Atlas for Germany
Extract from the foreword by Federal Environment Minister Sigmar Gabriel:
Environmental technology is one of the most important markets of the 21st century. Environmental technology helps us avoid polluting the world around us, reduce pollution that has occurred and remedy damage done. As raw materials become ever more scarce and ever more expensive, it also helps companies to handle these precious resources more efficiently. Both now and in the future, this opens up vast potential to reduce costs and make businesses more competitive.
The first edition of GreenTech made in Germany highlighted the importance of environmental technology and environmental innovations to the German economy, showing how this sector is increasingly emerging as an engine of growth and employment. The global financial and economic crisis has done nothing to change that. The long-term trends remain intact. What is crucial now is to press ahead with fresh, sustainable growth – to find a green way out of the crisis.
The positive response to “version 1.0” encouraged us and was an incentive to continue the project. This second edition therefore brings the material in the earlier volume up to date and examines the subjects raised in greater depth. It also provides a comparative view of key issues, as well as adding new themes and insights.
