Agreement on funding for the protection of the ozone layer
The Joint Conference of the Parties to the Vienna Convention and the Meeting of the Parties to the Montreal Protocol was concluded in Bali on 25 November. Several decisions were made on further international funding for the protection of the ozone layer as well as on several technical issues

New EU Directive on Ambient Air Quality transposed
On 6 August 2010 more stringent air quality standards came into effect in Germany. This is to transpose the new EU Directive on Ambient Air Quality into German law.

Small combustion plants ordinance enters into force on 22 March 2010
The new environmental provisions will apply to wood-fired heating systems, stoves and other small combustion plants fired with solid fuels. [ more]
