Last update: March 2013
The public is to be included in the process of drafting national action plans based on the results of the EU stress tests for nuclear power plants. In this context, the heads of the European Nuclear Safety Regulators Group (ENSREG) provided a possibility on their website to ask questions relating to the national action plans of participating countries (http://ensreg.eu/node/1310).
Interested citizens and representatives of public authorities, operators, non-governmental organisations and the media are invited to submit any questions or suggestions they may have by 15 March. These will then be used in the preparation of a workshop, which is planned to run from 22 to 26 April 2013 in Brussels.
In July 2012 ENSREG decided to draw up national action plans for nuclear power plants based on the findings of EU stress tests and discuss these findings together in order to carry out a peer review. This review will be carried out in April at the workshop in Brussels. The final report on the outcome of the workshop will be published afterwards.
Participating countries (15 EU member states with nuclear power plants and Switzerland) have until 31 December 2013 to draw up their national action plans, which will then be published and made available on the ENSREG website (http://ensreg.eu) in English.
The German national action plan will also be published in German on the Federal Environment Ministry's website.
