At their meeting in Brussels on 25 April 2012, the heads of the European nuclear safety regulators and the European Commission endorsed the report on the review of nuclear power plants in the EU by an international team of experts and agreed on additional measures. more

On 10 February 2012, the Council of the European Union adopted the regulation amending EC Regulation 648/2004 on the use of phosphates and other phosphorus compounds in consumer laundry detergents and consumer automatic dishwasher detergents which was adopted by the European Parliament in a first reading on 14 December 2011. It is expected to enter into force in March 2012. more

After prolonged negotiations, the Permanent Representatives Committee reached agreement on the revision of the WEEE Directive. The recast is primarily intended to increase collection and recycling targets for waste electrical and electronic equipment and curb illegal exports. more
