In order to protect our natural resources, an internationally agreed-upon goal has been set: to limit global warming to two degrees. Therefore, Germany is reducing CO2 emissions by a minimum of eighty percent by 2050. The transportation sector has to make a significant contribution as well. Electric vehicles help reducing Germany's CO2-Emissions as well as the environmental impact of particle and noise pollution. The Federal Ministry for Environment (BMU) is supporting this new technology with 200 million Euros in its "Renewable mobily" Programme.
