Clean, conservational and practical: electric mobility is making inroads towards sustainable individual transportation. Electric vehicles can contribute to reducing Germany's CO2 emissions by a minimum of 80 per cent by 2050. Powered by electricity from regenerative energy sources, electric vehicles not only reduce greenhouse gases - they also lower the environmental impact of particle and noise pollution. The Federal Ministry for Environment (BMU) is supporting this new technology with 200 million Euros in its "Renewably mobile" Programme.
